VOLOS & MT. PELION
Combining history with culture, our excursion visits two interesting and contrasting locations that jointly celebrate the magic that makes the idyllic Aegean so special. We begin our adventure in Volos and travel to the hook-like peninsula of the southeast. Thessaly
The soft, sloping contours of Mount Pelion make it a popular destination for day-tripping hikers. Weekend climbers can easily access the mountain’s loftier peaks. There is also an abundance of routes and trails that are ideal for mountain biking and horseback riding.
During the spring and summer months, colorful wildflowers cover the mountain slopes. The impenetrable forests are densely populated with fir, chestnut, oak and beech trees, and have inspired many mythological tales.
Greek legends also tell of a battle that was fought between the Gods and giants on Mt Pelion. It is also said to be the home of the wise centaur Chiron. The lush verdant site is also, of course, where the Gods held beauty contests and wedding ceremonies.

Explore Makrinitsa
We stop off at the picture-perfect village of Makrinitsa that is perched on the beautiful landscape at an altitude of 700m. Quaint and traditional style houses line the narrow streets. The cobblestone paths meander from the main square to the tiny 13th-Century church, together with the Museum of Culture and Tradition.
From the charming village square, you can take a stroll down along the coastal port city of Volos, and admire the amazing views of the Gulf.
