RIVER TREKKING TOUR
Situated in a prime location between Agios Nikolaos and Sitia, is the spectacular Richtis Gorge. The state-protected park is the perfect place to enjoy a sight-seeing hike. Your adventure begins at the 19th century stone-arched Lachanas Bridge, on the outskirts of the village of Exo Mouliana.
You will steadily traverse three kilometers along the jungle-like gorge to Richtis Beach, scaling a climb of 350-meters. As you continue to hike, you will be enveloped by the heady scent of fragrant endemic flowers and herbs that grow on the slopes of the majestic mountain rising high above you.
The gorge collects the water from the 918m Drymias peak, of the Orno range, through the streams of Lachanas and Mesa Mouliana that merge together at the starting point. During the summer, the water is reserved for local crops.
Although the lush landscape along the river offers an astonishing panorama of East Crete, the highlight of your river trek is the breathtaking Richtis Gorge waterfall. The 20-meter high tumbling cascades enhance the natural beauty of the perfect picturesque spot and makes for highly engaging photography.

Relax On Richtis Beach
We finish our scenic hike at the beautiful Richtis Beach situated near the village of Kalabro. The inviting pebble beach boasts a small park that is shaded by tamarisk trees and features a water fountain and stone seats and tables.
Relax as you admire the breathtaking natural landscape of the intimate and secluded pebbly cove. If you need to cool off, the turquoise water is crystal clear.
