EXPERIENCE THE TRADITION
A mouth-watering culinary tour is a perfect way in which to experience authentic Cyprus. Our traditional excursion combines preparing and sampling appetising and flavoursome dishes with learning the skilful craft of basket weaving.
We visit the enchanting village of Choirokitia and explore the picturesque alleyways on route to the traditional agricultural home of a friendly local family where you will meet Petros, a talented chef specialising in classic Cypriot cuisine. He’s also a highly experienced weaver of baskets.
In his company, you will learn the art of Halloumi and Anari cheese making, before sampling the delicious results. During the cheese boiling process, there is ample time to turn your hand to weaving a traditional basket using thin bamboo.
As a reward for your culinary and handicraft efforts, you can savour the exquisite flavours of homemade bread, locally sourced olives, fresh tomatoes and cucumber, with warm cheese served with sweet honey or carob syrup. Fresh lemonade and Cyprus coffee complete the authentic foodie experience.

Once your belly is full, it’s time to say goodbye to your host and his family, before returning back to port. On the bus ride back, you can relax and enjoy beautiful views along the coastline and reflect on the wonderful flavor of Cypriot cheese.
